At gunpoint, she drags Chico, a cocaine dealer, from his car and confronts him with a stark choice: ten years jail or turn informer. For
Leonhart, her informants are absolutely essential: "We need them. There's no quick fix to the drugs problem." She goes under cover to buy crack cocaine in an operation to shut down a neighbourhood crack house: "Where there are drugs, there's violence."
