Liverpool vSwarovski Tirol Back at Anfield for the second leg of this Uefa Cup third-round tie, Liverpool will be looking for a repeat of their home form in the previous round, when they put in a spirited performance to score three times and defeat
Auxerre 3-2 on aggregate. But their Austrian opponents have been in good form in the competition so far, beating the Norwegian side Tromso 3-2 on aggregate and trouncing
Greece's PAOK Salonika 4-0.
Their international striker
Christoph Westerthaler is
Austria's top scorer this season and has already netted five goals in the Uefa Cup.
Tirol's coach is the former
Austrian international Ernst
Happel, who guided Holland to the World Cup Final in 1978, and since he arrived in Innsbruck the club has won two
Championship titles and last year lost the title to FK Austria by just one point. Interestingly, last season Tirol beat Kuusysi Lahti , Liverpool's Uefa Cup first-round opponents, 7-1 in the European Cup, before crashing out to Real Madrid in the next round.
