Home and Dry
The drama of people's lives and the journeys they make. What happened to the children of the Dhaka orphanage, threatened with eviction? Air stewardess Pat Kerr and her flight crew colleagues in British Airways set an example to the world when they worked in off duty periods to rescue an orphanage - and 400 children in Dhaka, Bangladesh. When the children were threatened with eviction, the flight crews raised a massive E800,000 after their story was first told in The Visit series. They found a site 30 miles outside
Dhaka, survived floods and a cyclone and emerged with a new home, a children's village. Only it had become 650 children by the time President Ershad of Bangladesh and Lord King of British Airways officially opened the place. It may have been a success story for Pat Kerr and her colleagues, but for Pat it is only a beginning. Director ALEX MCCALL
