Before it opened in Britain last week John Cleese's "A Fish Called Wanda" had become the most successful British film comedy - earning more than 50 million dollars at the American box office. Iain Johnstone started filming Cleese at work long before the movie began to shoot, observing him as writer, director and actor and examining his relationship with the film's 77-year-old director, Charles Crichton.
Cleese reveals the philosophy that informs his work, tackles the criticism of his black humour and talks candidly about his private life. With Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline, Michael Palin
