In his ninth annual television spectacular the American master of illusion, David Copperfield , attempts to achieve the supposedly unachievable: a daring escape from Alcatraz Prison where he battles against straitjackets, sophisticated surveillance equipment, ferocious dogs and explosive devices. Will this encounter with "The Rock' defeat even his amazing skills? As a warm-up, David brings his famed humour and showmanship to some lesser tasks, such as evading steel spikes suspended by a burning rope and taking a nap on the point of a sword....

Known the world over as the 'Voice of Wimbledon',
Dan Maskell 's career in tennis has seen the transition of a truly amateur game into a multi-million pound business.
With the help of friends and colleagues like Fred Perry , Jack Kramer , Bud Collins and HRH The Duke of Kent, Dan recalls his life in tennis as ballboy, player and coach to the all-conquering British Davis Cup team in the 1930s, his experiences as a rehabilitation officer in the war and a career in television which began in the early 50s.
