Association of Cancer United Patients and their families and friends), appeals for funds on behalf of this vital organisation. When undergoing treatment for cancer herself she became aware of the desperate need felt by all cancer victims and their relatives for practical guidance and support.
In 1985 she founded BACUP, Britain's first cancer information service. A team of experienced nurses answer telephone calls and written enquiries covering all aspects of cancer care.
