with Desmond Morris and Sarah Kennedy
Which British animals were hunted wild-west style long before the United States was born? Which dog had its name changed in Britain as a result of World War I?
Each week Desmond and Sarah explore the relationship between people and the animals in their lives.
Today from Builth Wells at the annual show of the Working Breeds of Wales, Desmond meets royal dogs, the dog that gets its name from the Gaelic for 'being useful', and the face that launched a million cans of paint.
Sarah goes out and about to meet the goat which has joined the Royal Welsh Third Battalion, the birds which will adopt any abandoned chicks and visits a children's pet show in a back garden of a Welsh village.

Cliff Michelmore and Maggie Philbin report on the latest charity news. Dr Vicky Clement-Jones , chairman and founder of BACUP (The British
Association of Cancer United Patients and their families and friends), appeals for funds on behalf of this vital organisation. When undergoing treatment for cancer herself she became aware of the desperate need felt by all cancer victims and their relatives for practical guidance and support.
In 1985 she founded BACUP, Britain's first cancer information service. A team of experienced nurses answer telephone calls and written enquiries covering all aspects of cancer care.
Hundreds of people from all over the country contact the service every week. The organisation needs funds. Please give what you can. Send your donations to: BACUP, [address removed]

First of 11 programmes 'Thou Shalt Profit at All Costs'
Moral choices have never been easy. Down the ages religious teachers and philosophers have tried to draw up guidelines to help people make the best choices, but can codes from the past have any relevance to life in the 1980s?
Choices explores the human dilemmas which have been tackled by Holy Writ and priestly prohibitions. Have any of these problems been answered once and for all, or is it time to prepare a set of new commandments with fresh answers to the problems of modern living?
Rabbi Julia Neuberger asks Eric Bettelheim , Andrew Phillips , Mary Baker ,
Dr Charles Elliott and an invited audience about the new morality of money-making.
In the brave new world of the post-'Big Bang' city, peppered by stories of scandal and stress and salved by claims of increased opportunity and wider share ownership, are we making choices which will bring greater wealth for everyone or disproportionate riches for a few?

High Moon
The Earth and the Moon travel together round the Sun, but the movements of the Moon itself are not so straightforward as might be thought. Patrick Moore and Dr Ron Maddison discuss the whole question of how the Moon moves, how it affects the tides, and why it is very slowly receding from the Earth, at the same time slowing down the Earth's rate of rotation.
