The feature film starring
Judy Garland , James Mason
Already a showbusiness legend,
Judy Garland made a dazzling return to Hollywood as the star of the first musical version of this story. James Mason 's performance as the alcoholic actor was a similar triumph and George Cukors stylish, controlled direction shaped a film that is still the best of its kind today,

The final programme in a series which gives talented amateurs the chance to join the professional world of their dreams.
Reporter John Pitman
The members of a gardening club in Dorset never dreamed they'd be allowed to design a garden for the Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show. We gave them the chance. The garden was entirely planned and stocked by the amateurs, though they were advised by professionals like Percy Thrower, Geoffrey Smith and Bill Sowerbutts. In the end, the little local society compete with professional nurserymen from all over the world and try to win a coveted gold medal to take back to Beaminster.

based on GARSON KANIN 'S best-selling novel, starring
The struggle for the most coveted role in movie history-the part of Searlett in Gone with the Wind-involved every leading lady in Hollywood. They all wanted the role and would do anything to get it. Some actresses had stars in their eyes. Some moguls had stars on their couches. It was a game called casting. And, before it was over, the intrigue would have all Hollywood guessing and the disease that came to be known as ' Searlett fever' would grip Tinsel town.
