The arrival of the Green Knight at a royal banquet, and his challenge to the King's fat and lazy knights are the events which set young Gawain off on a year-long quest in which he is to have many magical encounters, including one with the beautiful maiden Linet. This tale of magical adventure is based on the anonymous early medieval poem.
