Clayton Pfanner is ' the steel cowboy ', a tough individualist, born out of his time. In the harsh world of the 1970s Clayton and his pal and co-driver, K.W., find the going hard. Their massive truck-complete with leather interior, carpets and television - is their home and their ' world '. Unfortunately for Clayton a life of free-wheeling adventure doesn't pay the bills and a freight-racketeer, Pincus, persuades them to transport stolen cattle-with disastrous results for all concerned.
