with John Coston
Today, in the mountains of Iran, archaeologists are discovering the remains of ancient temples where once the kings of Persia worshipped in front of a sacred fire. Legend has it that it was the priest Zoroaster who first built these fire altars, but no one knows just when he lived or who he was. In today's programme John Coston finds an old temple in a Persian mountain village where a holy fire still burns and people still say the ancient sacred prayers of Zoroaster.

Peter Rory O'Neill was born severely disabled. His mother Valerie was just 18, and she had to face up to the fact that Peter would never lead a normal life. Peter's physical handicaps are unusually cruel but there's nothing wrong with his mind, and at 14 he seems to be winning his own brand of independence - he's not afraid of the future. Many of us shy away from disabilities in others; not knowing what to say or how to react. But Peter and his mother handle the problem as if it didn't exist.
