The television special that won this year's Golden Rose Award at Montreux.
Produced by GEORGE SCHLATTER
Peter Rory O'Neill was born severely disabled. His mother Valerie was just 18, and she had to face up to the fact that Peter would never lead a normal life. Peter's physical handicaps are unusually cruel but there's nothing wrong with his mind, and at 14 he seems to be winning his own brand of independence - he's not afraid of the future. Many of us shy away from disabilities in others; not knowing what to say or how to react. But Peter and his mother handle the problem as if it didn't exist.
Written and narrated by Harold Williamson.
