The last of four true case histories about girls who ran away and the homes they left.
Sally Wharton - a girl rebelling against middle-class values.
In these dramatised reconstructions only the names have been changed.
Sally's parents meant her future to be a Swiss finishing school, rounds of dances and parties, then a rich young man for an early marriage. Instead she met Steve, a working-class lad from Bradford with a passion for powerful motorbikes, and lived with him in a 'squat '.
For Sally, he represented a breakaway from stuffiness and artificiality, he was a kind of 'noble savage'; or at least appeared to be.
