The New Frontier
Peterhead, a fishing town on the exposed north-east shoulder of Scotland, was the ' capital' of Britain's whale oil industry 150 years ago. Today it's in the front line of another oil boom, with two specially-built bases for North Sea supply boats.
Tonight's Energy File goes to sea on one of these boats in a Force-ten storm and also finds out how the lives of people and communities on the oil frontier are being affected by the onslaught of huge developments.
