Symphony, one of the landmarks in British music which, 40 years after its composition, still poses daunting problems in performance. To mark Walton's 75th birthday next Tuesday, Omnibus invited Previn to talk about the work and rehearse it with the London
Symphony Orchestra (leader JOHN GEORGIADIS ), for a complete performance to be shown on Sunday in The Lively Arts. There are comments, too, from Sir William himself, filmed at his home in Ischia.
