The second of a six-part series of zoological exploration. The Sea of Cortez
The expedition lives on a tiny sun-baked desert island and explores the plants and animals that live in, on, or by the Sea of Cortez.
Rasa Island houses one of the world's most impressive sea-bird cities : it's the headquarters of the rare and graceful Heermann's gull. Finback whales plough up and down the coastline sieving plankton from the ocean - where feather-duster worms, octopuses and a myriad of other creatures make their living. The complex food chains are fascinatingly unravelled : we see the falcon that killed the gull that ate the lizard that caught the fly that fed off the fish caught by the skill of the osprey.
