Three beautiful women, Jeanne Moreau , Catherine Deneuve and Claude Jade , are among those who take part in piecing together an extraordinary life story in tonight's Omnibus.
Francois Truffaut is world-famous as a director but significant periods of his early life were spent in a juvenile delinquent centre and an army prison. Now, at 41, he feels that he can, perhaps, look back candidly. Tonight's programme was made as he worked on his latest film, La Nuit Americaine, just released here as Day for Night.

Between politicians and journalists exists an area of dispute. MPs, Ministers and Opposition spokesmen castigate editors and broadcasters for distortion or misrepresentation of their work. Journalists fight what they call attempts at manipulation.
With Desmond Wilcox in the studio are MPs including Tony Benn , John Pardoe , Julian Critchley and Nicholas Ridley and top journalists - Sir Hugh Cudlipp , Anthony Shrimsley , Jeremy Isaacs and William Hardcastle.
