This year marks the 50th anniversary of the unveiling of the Cenotaph in Whitehall and the laying to rest of the Unknown Soldier in Westminster Abbey. Today's Service of Remembrance, which also commemorates the 25th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, comes from Whitehall and Westminster Abbey.
