A documentary drama narrated by Robert Hardy
She was ridiculed, hated, and sneered at in a way that would have broken less extraordinary women. But nothing could deter her from her God-given mission: a mission which changed the sexual behaviour of a generation. This film follows the course of her tumultuous life and includes a dramatic re-creation of the sensational libel action between Marie Stopes and Halliday Sutherland, a Roman Catholic doctor.
