The Rugby League Challenge Cup Final: Castleford v. Salford
BBC outside broadcast cameras bring you the whole of today's big match at the Empire Stadium, Wembley, followed by the presentation of the Cup and medals by Sir Denis Blundell, K.B.E., High Commissioner for New Zealand

Neither team has reached Wembley during the past thirty years. Salford lost to Halifax in the 1939 Final, having beaten Barrow the previous year. Castleford are at Wembley for the second time. Their first appearance was in 1935 when they beat Huddersfield. Today's final promises to be a memorable one, between two sides with definite attacking ideas

Feature films with suspense, danger, excitement
Starring Humphrey Bogart, Ethel Barrymore, Kim Hunter

Humphrey Bogart, one of the true Hollywood immortals, is cast in the role of Managing Editor of The Day, a dying newspaper about to be bought out by its principal rival. In a desperate bid to save the paper, Hutcheson launches an all-out attack on the local city underworld boss (a chilling performance by Martin Gabel), but even with the help of the owner's widow (Ethel Barrymore) it seems that the best he can do is to secure a stay of execution.

Tonight's movie was written and directed by Richard Brooks whose credits as writer-director include The Blackboard Jungle, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Elmer Gantry (for which he won an Oscar), and In Cold Blood.
