Alan Whicker pursues the Bandits of Sardinia
"Graziano's having a difficult time, at the moment..."

In the Barbagia - least-known mountains of Europe where it is said there is a robbery, a kidnapping, or a murder every day - Alan Whicker follows the course of a bloody vendetta that has claimed ten victims so far... He also discovers how and why simple shepherds suddenly turn bandit - men on the run who only leave the peaks to kidnap and kill.
The Italian Press estimates that 600 people have been murdered here since the war -
among them an unfortunate English couple who had foolishly stopped for a picnic in bandit country.

A season of Britain's great laughter-makers.
Starring Peter Sellers, Margaret Rutherford, Virginia McKenna, Bill Travers, Bernard Miles
A Frank Launder and Sidney Gilliat production

The Spensers, an impoverished young couple, inherit a cinema in the North of England. Joy turns to dismay when they find it is only a run-down little flea-pit-The Bijou. With the cinema they inherit its staff-all living anachronisms: Old Tom, the doorman; Mrs. Fazackalee, the Edwardian cashier and silent-film piano accompanist; and Mr. Quill, the bibulous projectionist. (Bernard Miles, Margaret Rutherford, and Peter Sellers play this delightful trio with nostalgic affection.) When a neighbouring super-cinema makes a bid for The Bijou, the Spensers have to make the decision whether to sell up over the heads of their staff or to try to make a go of it.
