After the funeral of their father, five sisters, imprisoned at home by their mother, await the arrival of the eldest sister's fiance. He is the local gigolo. The eldest sister has inherited the money, the youngest is the most beautiful and the plain one is jealous. All five of the sisters see in the gigolo a means of escape, which leads to the final tragedy.
