Immediately after the war the birthrate In this country increased dramatically: from 15 births per thousand before the war to 20.7 per thousand in 1947. But this rise was only temporary, and by 1954 the birthrate was back to normal. This so-called ' bulge' in the population figures has already caused special problems in the schools. Before very long it will be having an effect on employment in industry.

In their recent book The Three Faces of Eve Drs. Thigpen and Cleckley have described a case of multiple personality even more remarkable than that of Morton Prince's celebrated Sally Beauchamp. The speaker, who is a psychologist and anthropologist, contrasts this case with the phenomena of 'possession' by alien spirits which are commonly found among primitive peoples.
