Franz Tischhauser, who is a member of the staff of Zurich Radio, was born in Berne in 1921. Das Nasobem, which was written in 1950, consists of settings of seven nonsense-rhymes by the German poet Christian Morgenstern. Harald Saeverud was born in Bergen in 1897. He has written a large amount of music, including seven symphonies: this Piano Concerto was composed in 1950 for the Norwegian pianist, Robert Riefling. It is in three movements: Allegro non troppo; Andante cantabile; Allegro scherzando.
Karl-Birger Blomdahl, who was born in Vaxjo, Sweden, in 1916, is a pupil of Hilding Rosenberg. In the Hall of the Mirrors, which he completed last year, is a group of nine settings of sonnets by Erik Lindegren. D.C.
