A feature programme on brain and behaviour
Written and produced by Nesta Pain with Edward Chapman as the psychiatrist
Scientific advice has been given by Norman Dott , C.B.E., F.R.C.S. , Professor of Neuro-Surgery in the University of Edinburgh, and by Alexander Kennedy , F. R.C.P. , Professor of Psychological Medicine in the University of Durham, who will speak at the end of the programme
There is evidence that a close relationship exists between a small area at the base of the brain and certain qualities of personality. It is one of the more primitive parts of the brain, and disease or injury that releases it from the control of higher centres may result in emotional disturbances and undisciplined behaviour. It may even destroy the sense of moral values and social responsibility.
