There is evidence that a close relationship exists between a small area at the base of the brain and certain qualities of personality. It is one of the more primitive parts of the brain, and disease or injury that releases it from the control of higher centres may result in emotional disturbances and undisciplined behaviour. It may even destroy the sense of moral values and social responsibility.
