Andre Malraux 's La psychologie de l'art, of which two volumes have already been published in English, is shortly to reappear in a one-volume French edition as La voix du silence. In this talk J. M. Cocking , Lecturer in French at King's College, London, reviews La monnaie de I'absolu (which forms the third and last volume of the original work) and considers how it is related to Malraux's novels.
