W T Owen, who has recently joined the editorial staff of the Western Mail, has spent several years abroad. He is very interested in Nordic literature, and has studied for long periods in Germany and the Scandinavian countries. He has also travelled extensively in the U.S.A. and Canada, where he investigated the cultural and literary activities of Scandinavians in America.

P. ALLENDER FRYER

At the age of fourteen P. Allender Fryer was an organist and choir-master, and by the time he was twenty-one he was working at his fourth appointment as an organist. He was a pupil of G. D. Cunning ham, one of the finest organists in England, and he also studied at the University College of South Wales. 
When he was organist and choir-master at the Christ Church, Wellington, Salop, he was appointed organist for the Rural Deanery Festival. In 1923 he was accompanist to the winning male-voice choir at the National Eisteddfod. 
Then he took to cinema organs, and was at the Park Hall Cinema, Cardiff, from which he broadcast in 1929.
