The Swansea Festival Orchestra, numbering sixty players, was formed by a few musical enthusiasts shortly after the National Orchestra of Wales ceased to exist. The object of the orchestra has been to give first-class orchestral concerts, and to encourage choral societies to co-operate with it in the production of suitable works.
