A serial version for broadcasting of Crosbie Garstin 's trilogy ' The Penhales ', read by Geoffrey Tandy
Ortho Penhale's adventures abroad are at an end for a time, and he is back in his native Cornwall, broke but, as usual, boasting;
He landed at Portsmouth and started walking home looking out for a chance of getting a lift. The last free ride he got was by throwing a sleepy post-boy off a lady's carriage into a ditch and driving it himself at full gallop into Penzance.
In Penzance Ortho heard of his mother's death and he left hastily for Bosula.
