These two movements are the most considerable of the set. Between them, in order, there comes a ' Nuptial Hymn ', which is a formal little movement of a naive, folk-like character, followed by a ' Serenade ' in the manner of an equally formal little scherzo. This in turn is followed by the most impressionistic movement of the five, a slow movement entitled ' In the Garden', wherein is displayed Goldmark's charming talent for making effective use of the refinements of instrumental colour.
