Roland Powell is a microphone figure of many years standing. He controls a great many hands, which include Roland Powell's Rhythm Aces, the Roland Powell Quintet, and the Roland Powell Variety Orchestra. He has broadcast with his various bands over 350 times.
For fourteen years Powell held the post of Musical Director to L.M.S. Hotels, England and Scotland, in which capacity he worked jointly with Henry Hall for a number of years.
In Will Sanders, leader of the Grand Hotel Novelty Quintet, Powell has a versatile musician. Sanders is a product of the Paris Conservatoire, spent two years at the Cafe de Paris, and has been with Powell for the last four years.
