The Good Friday Morning Service at St. Nicholas Church, Bristol,has been broadcast in the Western programme for some years past. This year, at the request of many listeners, it is being extended to the National and all Regional programmes. 
The Bishop of Bristol, who is to give the Address, is a well-known broadcaster. It will be remembered that as Canon Woodward he broadcast a number of children's services from St. John's, Smith Square-a tradition which he carries on in the West from St. Mary Redcliffe, Bristol.

Dorothy Hogben 's Singers and Players usually consist of a Male Voice Trio, a baritone character singer, and a string quintet. From the pioneer days of broadcasting she has been a deputy BBC pianist ; more recently she conducted and orchestrated over sixty of the Ridge-way Parades. She also played in ' Foundations of Music ' series.

At Easter, modern methods of transport are taxed to their utmost with holiday-makers and the Easter mail. This programme looks back to the time, just over a hundred years ago, when letters and passengers were conveyed by the mail-coach. Travel had an exciting side to it then, which for all the increased speed and comfort is to some extent missing in these days. Travel was jeopardised then by anything from bad weather to highwaymen, and even by the temperament of the coachman.
