Though the songs in the present programme are not Students' Songs in the same sense as would be a similar programme of German music, they serve the same purpose. Actually, many of them are folk songs, one is a shanty, another a nursery rhyme, and practically all are traditional. Of their value as music, whoever sings them and however they are sung, one has only to note the names of those who have sponsored, or, as it is called, arranged them. In the whole day's programmes there is nothing to touch this half-hour for sheer musical worth.
