The production by Howard Rose
The host of listeners who for years have been asking for some of the excellent plays given in the London Children's Hour to be broadcast in the adult programmes will welcome the decision of Howard Rose to lead the way. Listeners on the National wavelength as well as in the Empire will be able to hear how good some of these plays can be.
Franklyn Kelsey’s serial plays,
Southward Ho !, Shield of Malkus, The Island in the Mist, Children in the Sun, and Robin Hood , have been among the London Children's Hour's most, popular features. The Robin Hood serial, consisting of twelve plays, was begun in 1930 and has been revived again and again ever since. It is hoped that Franklyn Kelsey will be available to broadcast in the part he created and has always played-Robin Hood-and that Ralph Truman will be available to broadcast as the wicked Bishop of Hereford-a part in which he made such a big success.
London Children's Hour fans will be interested to know that Howard Rose is thinking of producing some of the plays in du Garde Peach's popular series ' Castles of England

' E. M. Delafield '
Extracts from her writings read by Eric Gillett
In his series of readings from the works of modern British travellers
Eric Gillett this afternoon will draw upon the work of Miss E. M. Delafield.
Although she is better known to most people as a novelist, Miss Delafield's travel sketches are a very interesting part of her writings. Some years ago she made an adventurous journey in Russia, where she lived on a farm for some time. She is well known as a delightful stylist with a happy turn of phrase, and as an expert and humorous observer of the human scene.

Frank Gerald
That fine old sportsman, Frank Gerald , author of 'A Millionaire in Memories must be one of the oldest actors still in active service, for he made his first professional appearance in 1868. He saw fourteen Grand Nationals in succession, rode over the Grand National course when he was sixteen, and was tipped a 50-1 winner by Nat Gould at the Chester races.
There is little that he has not done in his adventurous life. In
1879 he played Association Football for Wales against Scotland on the Wrexham racecourse, and three years later in Auckland played for New Zealand at Rugby. He has acted in as many as fourteen Shakespearean rôles in one week for the salary of £1. and once took part in a show at the bottom of a silver mine. In 1882, at Timaru, he had a friendly bout with Jem Mace and put the gloves on in real earnest with a boy whose name-Bob Fitzsimmons -was to become famous. '

Edna Thorpe and Humphrey Jennings
A fortnight ago Joseph Keen, who. was asked to come to the microphone because he was a typical office worker, confessed that he took no interest whatever in poetry. On being drawn out by Humphrey Jennings , however, it was shown that this was an exaggeration of the truth.
Today Humphrey Jennings is to bring to the microphone Edna Thorpe. chiefly because she is a typical housewife yet happens to take a great interest in poetry. Listeners should hear from their discussion what special steps poetry lovers are taking here, there, and everywhere to follow the recent developments in the work of modern poets.
