Tonight Professor Maemurray introduces a series of twelve talks that seek to analyse the modern spirit by an examination of the lives and personalities of nine leaders of thought of the past, whose influence represents important forces in the life of the present. The men chosen arn St. Thomas Aquinas , Luther. Newton, Rousseau, Goethe, Bentham, Darwin, Nietzsche, and Karl Marx. Professor Macmurrav has written a pamphlet to introduce the series which contains a full bibliography and is entitled, 'The Modern Spirit.' It may be obtained from the Publications Department, Broadcasting House, London, W.I, or from any local B.B.C. Office, price 4d., or 5d. post free.
