Professor Henry Lewis, who is Professor at the University College, Swansea, is a specialist in Welsh Philology. He is the author of a book on 'The History of the Welsh Language,' published in the Welsh Home University Library series. In the present talk Professor Lewis will discuss the question as to whether Welsh is a pure language. He will deal with the various alterations in its vocabulary and will show that the borrowing of words from other languages does not indicate a weakness.
