An Appeal on behalf of The Newport Institute for the Blind and Swinnerton Memorial Home by The Hon. Evan Morgan
Contributions will be gratefully received by [address removed]

This Society arranges for the visitation to and instruction of the Blind throughout the County, and supplies literature and appliances for Braille reading and writing. It makes a special point of assisting adults who, by accident or disease, lose their night, by teaching them Braille reading and writing and the use of various appliances for employment, instruction and amusement. It also arranges for eye treatment at hospitals, defraying where necessary travelling expenses and providing spectacles when recommended. In the workshops blind men and women are employed, the former in basket, mat, and brush making, and the latter in fancy basket work, chair-rescating, and weaving.
