Ralph Wightman , born in Dorset, is a frequent member of the team. He is a B.Sc. (Agriculture) of Durham University and is perhaps best known to listeners for his work with ' Country Magazine ' and for his broadcast talks on agricultural and country matters.
Sir Steuart Wilson , who was born in Bristol where his father was Headmaster of Clifton College , started his musical career as a singer. He joined the BBC in 1942 and was appointed Head of Music of the BBC in 1948. He is now Deputy General Administrator of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
Michael Foot is the Member of Parliament (Labour) for the Devonport Division of Plymouth. He was Assistant Editor of the Evening Standard in 1942 and is now Joint Editor of Tribune and political columnist of the Daily Herald.
Robert Boothby has been the Member of Parliament (Conservative) for East Aberdeenshire since 1924. He was Parliamentary Private Secretary to Mr. Churchill when the latter was Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1926 to 1929, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food in 1940. He has been a conspicuous back-bench speaker on financial and economic affairs.
