Ben Travers , now in his seventies, had his first play, The Dippers, produced by Charles Hawtrey at the Criterion in 1921. Between 1925 and 1933 he wrote nine of the eleven farces produced at the Aidwych, for a team that included Tom Walls , Ralph Lynn , Robertson Hare , Winifred Shotter , and Mary Brough.
In conversation with Philip Holland , he recalls these years and talks about himself, his work, and the people he has known.
