A light-hearted piece of fiction concerning a tiny neutral principality on the Italian coast which suddenly finds itself occupied by a regiment of Napoleon's troops. The inhabitants hide their valuables and then set out to be friendly -all except the high-spirited daughter of the richest man in the place.
