Horn and Hoof
The domestic breeds of horses, cattle, and sheep have wilder kindred at large or in parks in many parts of Britain. KENNETH WILLIAMSON and G. K. WHITEHEAD discuss their origins, natural history, and present status and introduce on-the-spot recordings made about the Soay sheep of St. Kilda, the Bagot goats in Needwood Forest, Staffordshire, the wild white cattle of Chillingham Park, Northumberland, and Exmoor ponies near Brendon.

Appeal on behalf of the Soldiers', Sailors', and Airmen's Families Association, by Mrs. M. Coleman , a S.S.A.F.A. worker
Contributions (preferably by crossed postal order or cheque): will be gratefully acknowledged and should be addressed to [address removed].
For seventy-five years, the friendly, tireless, and unpaid army of voluntary workers, twelve thousand strong, under the auspices of the Soldiers', Sailors', and Airmen's Families Association, has been helping Service and ex-Service families who are in difficulties and have no one else to turn to. S.S.A.F.A. help comes sometimes in cash, sometimes in kind, sometimes just in personal help. This work is vital-but it is costly, and it relies largely on public support.
