In this talk he describes the finding of a derelict in New York and how he patched her up and sailed her single-handed home to England via the Bahamas.

Waney had been dashing about aU the afternoon trying to find someone to play the part of Cinderella in the forest pantomime, now that Belinda, the conceited and affected little white mouse who called herself Gloria la Souris, had broken her paw. Waney and Mr. Scales, the lizard, set off with the badger, Mr. Snout, in his car, but the forest was full of ruts and bumps, and Mr. Snout was a very bad driver, so that when at last they arrived at the Harebell Open Air Theatre, Waney was both tired and thirsty. She strolled off by herself towards Bartley Water-and that was when she heard the stranger's voice singing Cinderella's song ...
