by Colin Wills
A few weeks ago in Paris the French Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany drew up a plan for the long-proposed Europeanisation of the Saar.
Colin Wills, who has just returned from the Saar, describes the plan and its relation to the history, the economic, social, and cultural life of the Saarlanders. His journey took him also to
Paris and Bonn, the capitals of the countries on whose agreement concerning the difficult problem of the Saar's future status so much depends in the progress towards full co-operation between the nations of Western Europe. His report is illustrated by on-the-spot recordings.
