Talk by Bishop Lilje of Hanover
The Second World War cut the German churches off from fellowship with churches throughout the world. When the war came to an end, the renewal of this fellowship was one of the greatest things in the experience of the German churches. It gave to them new hope and assisted materially in their rebuilding.
Bishop Lilje, who was a prominent figure in the churches' resistance to the Nazi regime, recorded this talk recently while attending the Third World Conference on Faith and Order at Lund, Sweden.
