Gallant Allies who have escaped from occupied Europe hold a party at the Freedom Club to celebrate Greek Independence Day. Fellow-members of the Club who have reached this country from Poland, France, Belgium, Russia, Norway, Holland, Czecho-slovakia Yugoslavia, and Greece, sing their national songs and tell stories of their amazing wartime adventures. March 25 is Greek Independence Day. In March 1821 the Greeks, who were then a s.ubject nation, hoisted at Patras the flag of revolt and freedom. Today their descendants, in the face of incredible hardships, are fighting again for freedom with all their traditional courage. This programme presents their sufferings and their achievements.
