Mozart's A major Piano Concerto is one of the finest of all the composer's concerted works. It dates from March, 1786-in other words, it belongs to the Figaro period. It is one of the three concertos composed for Mozart's subscription concerts in the Lent of that year, the other two being the E flat (K.482) and the C minor (K.491).
