A talk by Hector MacIver
There is probably no part of the country which can boast a higher percentage of men serving with the Navy and Merchant Service than the Western Islands of Scotland. In the Isle of Lewis, in the Outer Hebrides, where Hector MacIver comes from, practically every household has one or more members of its family serving their country at sea. MacIver himself comes of a seafaring family, so that his talk tonight, in which he will describe a visit to a destroyer, will have an authentic ring about it.
