Leonie Zifado is of Spanish and Russian parentage. After making her debut at Wigmore Hall she went to Germany, where she studied most of her operatic rôles at the Opera House, Prague, and returned to this country to sing in Gianni Schicchi at Covent Garden. She sings in five languages, but specialises in Spanish songs.
