at the theatre organ
Leslie Simpson had a childhood ambition to become a concert pianist. His success as a chorister gained for him free organ tuition at St. Mark's Church, Broomhill, Sheffield, but he still clung to his desire to become a pianist until the advent of the electric-unit organ turned his mind towards his present job.
He has been cinema organist at the Regent, Stamford Hill, the Picture House, Leicester, the Grange, Kilburn, and the Classic, Belfast.
