Barry Bucknell's weekly television guide for amateur home improvers.

The kitchen floor, like all the floors in the old house, is rough and uneven. Barry Bucknell lays a level foundation of hardboard and shows a way of cutting round the architraves of the door. Then he lays vinyl tiles. In the dining-room he uses a sanding machine to level the boards and then covers them with a plastic screed.
