A second showing of the film Puppets at Tokushima

This programme of contrasts first shows Japanese fishermen still using the methods of their ancestors; then a glimpse of the modern sport of speed-boat racing; and finally, at Tokushima, puppets being made and part of a puppet play.

The Modern Greeks and Thirty Violent Years
Few people realise that Greece has been at war almost continuously for a hundred years. Rare old film traces the turbulent events between 1913 and 1945 when war, revolution, kings, and dictators followed one another in quick succession.

At the Junction
An entry from Finland at this year's Montreux Festival.
featuring Brita Koivunen, Laila Kinnunen, Pirkko Mannola, The Four Cats
Produced by Jukka Virtanen, Aarre Elo and Matti Kuusla for the Finnish Television Service

This half-hour musical tells the enchanting story of a day in the life of a railway station. Life is gay; in fact, the girls in the kiosk, the porters, the passengers, and all the other people coming and going have plenty of time to sing and dance. And although the members of the cast are all Finnish many of the songs are in English.
