A Television Treasure Hunt
Percy Pitcher was one of the pioneers of British Aviation. When he was killed in 1899, he was working on a four-horse-power engine for one of his gliders. This might have enabled him to make the world's first successful powered flight, three years before the Wright Brothers. That engine, and any drawings of it, have now disappeared.

Each year about three-quarters of a million tons of fish are landed in Great Britain, and much of the fishing is done by trawlers. In tonight's programme Alan Villiers and Bill Luard discuss the different types of vessel and different fishing grounds, with special reference to the disputes with Iceland. Alan Villiers shows and comments on a film he made last year on a trip to the Faroes in a Grimsby trawler.
