The story so far: The eccentric Mrs. Leonard has told the police that she has some important information to disclose about the murder of former Judge Bath. She invites Inspector Leigh to visit her at her house on the cliff, but Hugh Everton feels he ought to warn her that Cady also knows of this intended visit. It is while Everton is at the house, before the police arrive, that Cady suddenly appears....
